DATABASES
Until recently, my work with databases was limited to (a) creating large data files in SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), (b) inputting information into databases created by others within the Rockdale County Schools and Walden University (e.g. entering work completion numbers monthly as a psychologist for Rockdale County Schools), and (c) accessing information from large academic databases including those made available to me as a professor for Walden University such as EBSCO. In an effort to (a) better organize emails, websites and lectures that I use in teaching, student work, turnitin.com reports, letters, chat archives, etc., and (b) more easily search through this information for what I need, I have recently created my own databases using the askSam6 database-creating software (askSam Systems, 121 S. Jefferson St, Perry, FL 32348; 850-584-6590). I have uploaded and linked here to the sample Development Websites Database I created, but I presume that few have this program on there PC and that those reviewing this portfolio will not be able to view this sample database. My guess is that my data files from SPSS will also not be viewable by those reviewing this portfolio. I am willing to make available any other evidence of these initiatives that is requested.
MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATION SOFTWARE
I have created dozens of PowerPoint presentations that I have used (1) as a presenter at conferences and paid workshops and in other settings such as schools, (2) as an online Assistant Professor for Walden University to help explain and clarify concepts and theories (available through my website at www.psycholosphere.com and as attachments within Walden's classrooms via eCollege), (3) as a grant project evaluator to help explain program components and evaluation plan components to stakeholders, and (4) as a grant program director to explain program components and to make resources available to participating schools and teachers. These grant projects are no longer active or ongoing, but slides created for a once active grant project website are included in the list below. Some of these slide sets include audio narration. Note that many of the slide sets are study slides to be viewed by students at their leisure, and are not presentation slides that are shown to viewers for just a few seconds to a few minutes. Note also that the study slides include many links to helpful websites and references for source material for the slides. All or most that I have created are available through other pages of this website, but for the convenience of those reviewing my technology portfolio, and sampling are linked below.
